Cats In My Yard

We’re proud to begin working with Cats In My Yard!

Cats In My Yard has been trapping, neutering, and returning (TNR) cats since 2004, and is a registered Colony Caretaker in compliance with the 2007 Cook County Managed Care of Feral Cats Ordinance [07-O-72]. Cats In My Yard shows neighbors how to TNR and care for cats in their own yards.

TNR has been an effective method of curbing out of control cat populations. A cat that is not spayed or neutered can begin having a fresh litter of kittens while she is still nursing, and kittens can begin having litters of their own at 6 months. This can lead to exponential growth patterns for feral cat populations, and many of the colonies that CIMY has dealt with resemble these patterns.

This chart demonstrates a 67% reduction in each colony’s population. TNR offers dramatic results.

The work that this organization is fantastic and had dramatic, proven results. They also help to heal any cats that are injured while outside. We want to help them in as many ways as we can, but we need help from the community as well. You can view the expenses and fundraising efforts here:
